NOTD: Looks Like Rain, Dear

Hey guys! I'm back with another Nail of the Day. I decided to try out one of the Sephora by OPI Holiday Collection colors. This is another super-glittery shade, which I love and hate at the same time. I absolutely adore the way it looks when it's on my nails...it's the removing it that I hate. Removing glitter polishes can be a real chore. But that's not going to stop me from wearing these beautiful colors.

It Looks Like Rain, Dear is a pale gold color with fine gold metallic glitter and larger iridescent glitter. I applied 2 coats to achieve this look. This one probably wouldn't work so well as a top coat over another color, because it is fairly opaque with just one coat. Just like with my previous NOTD, this polish does feel a bit lumpy if you run your finger over it, but there isn't any glitter sticking out that could get caught on things. I've had some polishes do that...how annoying! Anyway, this polish retails for $9.00 at Sephora stores and is limited edition for the holidays.

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving (to those of you who celebrate it)! Can't believe it's the last day of November already. This year sure did fly by. Talk to you all again soon.  :)

Nail Polish Haul!

Hey guys! I got a nail polish haul in the mail yesterday, and wanted to share what I picked up. Most of the ones I got are from brand new collections, so you should hopefully be able to find these at a store near you. I buy a lot of my nail polishes from a site called Trans Design Inc..This is more of a beauty supply site, but they have decent prices on good brands of nail polish. Plus, they always get the new collections fairly early.

I got two of the polishes from the China Glaze 'Tis the Season to be Naughty and Nice holiday 2010 collection: Frosty, which is a white shimmery color that really looks like frost...and Jolly Holly, which is a shimmery forest green color. Each one of these cost $2.99.

The rest of the polishes I got in this haul were from Essie. My Essie collection is relatively small right now, but I'm really liking this brand. Whenever I can, I purchase the mini sizes since I will never get through an entire full-sized bottle of any color. Five out of six of the Essie colors I picked up are from the Winter 2010 collection. And four of those were available in a Mega Mini Color Cube for $17.00. The colors in the cube were: Hot Coco, Going Incognito, Silken Cord, and Masquerade Belle.

The other shade I picked out from the Winter collection was Smokin' Hot, which reminds me of a darker version of OPI's Metro Chic. It is actually what I am wearing in these pictures...not that you can see it very well, but still.  =)

I also purchased one additional Essie nail polish called Steel-ing the Scene. I had been eyeing this one for quite some time. It's a gorgeous shimmery very light gold color. The full-sized Essie polishes retail for $8.00 each.

I did some swatches of all of the colors so you can see what they look like. Each swatch is the result of two coats of nail polish. I did not use base or top coats for the swatches.

I hope you enjoyed my nail polish haul and I also hope that the swatches and pictures were helpful. Take care and I'll talk to you all again soon.   =)

NOTD: If You've Got It, Haunt It

Hey guys! As you might know, I'm pretty obsessed with nail polish. I have hundreds of colors in my collection, and I paint my nails at least twice a week. I thought I would start sharing the colors I use and my thoughts on them as well, so you can get a better idea of if a specific shade would be right for you.

For my first NOTD (Nail of the Day), I'm wearing Sephora by OPI in "If You've Got It, Haunt It". This polish retails from Sephora for $9.00, and was part of their 2010 Halloween collection. The polish has a black base and is loaded with mostly silver glitter, but also has green, red, and blue glitter mixed in. I wouldn't call the glitter chunky, like the Sephora website says. It's more of a mid-sized glitter, but it does feel lumpy when you run your finger over it. I only needed to apply 2 coats to achieve the look you see in the picture. It applied evenly and dries very quickly. The consistency of the polish is quite thick (probably due to the immense glitter content), but I didn't find it to be too difficult to work with.

If anyone is curious, I always use the Sephora by OPI base coat and the OPI RapiDry top coat.

I hope you liked my first NOTD, and I hope everyone had a fun and happy Halloween! =)

Where Have I Been???

Hey Guys! It's been so, so long since I've talked to any of you, and I miss you all. As happens to most of us at some point, life just gets in the way. As some of you that watched me on YouTube for a long time know, after I moved down here to Florida, my videos started coming at less frequent intervals, until they pretty much died out all together. It started to get tougher for me to find time to make my videos. Between my new environment, growing pains, job stress, and personal relationships, something had to give.

I also have had to cut down on my makeup purchases. Everything is more expensive here, and quite honestly, I already have SO MUCH makeup. More than I will use in my lifetime. I'm not saying I haven't been buying any makeup, but it's a lot less than it used to be. I still would like to sell off some of my collection, and the thought of a blog sale is starting to cross my mind again.

I really want to start making YouTube videos again in the future. While on my hiatus, YouTube finally made me a Partner! It took them so long to accept my application, that I had forgotten I even applied. But anyway, like I was saying, I do want to start making videos again, although it may take me a while to get back up to speed. For now I've decided to start back up slowly and try to start making more blog posts, as well as putting up slide show videos on YouTube to compliment certain blog posts (like if I post pics here from a haul). I may also make some updated collection videos soon. People are still begging me for an updated nail polish collection video...and that is definitely the part of my collection that has grown the most!

Consider this post as Part One of my inevitable comeback. Talk to you all again soon. =)

Lip Product No-Buy!

Hey guys! I've decided to go on a lip product no-buy. How long will it last? I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that I have WAY too many lipsticks and lipglosses that I barely ever get to wear. Most of the time when I go out, I'm with my boyfriend, and he doesn't need to end up with colored, sparkly lips...lol. (Yes, we are the disgusting PDA type.) So I end up just wearing a non-sticky, sheer gloss or lip balm 98% of the time. So as of today, I'm not purchasing any more lip products! In fact, I've also been thinking about thinning out my collection. I want to start posting some blog sales so that my unused or barely used lipsticks can find good homes. Interested? Stay tuned... =)

Talk to you all again soon. <3 <3 <3

February Favorites

The month of February was short and went fast, but there were a lot of great new products released this month. The biggest release was the MAC Spring Colour Forecast Collection(s). If you saw my haul video, you know I purchased a bunch things from the collection. I haven't used all of the products yet, but there were a few stand-out products from the ones I have used so far. With that being said, I'll start off with those products!

MAC Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach

I purchased all four of the Blush Ombres from the Spring Colour Forecast Collection, and this is definitely my favorite. This blush goes from a peach color and gradually goes to a pink color. Both colors together make the most gorgeous peachy-pink. It's literally three blush colors in one. The texture is great and it blends easily, coverage can be made light and is buildable if desired. There is a subtle shimmer to this as well. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to pick this up, since it sold out super fast.

MAC Lipstick in Bubblegum

My next favorite product for February is MAC's lipstick in Bubblegum. This was another one that was quick to sell out, and for good reason. This is a Glaze finish lipstick, which means that it is a more sheer color...but this one still has a decent amount of pigmentation. MAC refers to this color as a light lavender pink, which is accurate. It also has a tiny bit of gold sparkle to it if you look very closely.

MAC Tinted Lipglass in Electric Fuchsia

Next is a lipglass from the collection that I like pairing with Bubblegum lipstick, and that would be Electric Fuchsia. This is a bright pinky-violet color with blue sparkle. Absolutely stunning, and good pigmentation.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden

My next favorite product for February is the latest addition to the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion family. This one is in Eden, which is a matte beige-nude color. It has the same great no-creasing power as its sister UDPP's, and I love it.

MAC Paint Pots

I've had a couple of MAC Paint Pots for over a year now that I used a few times, but didn't until this month really start using them a lot. Now I am in love with them! This month I made 3 new additions to my Paint Pot collection, and two of my favorites are Girl Friendly and Groundwork. I've been using one as an eyeshadow base every day!

OPI Nail Lacquer in Grenada 'N Bare It

Last but not least is a nail polish that I loved wearing in February. This one was a favorite for my toenails. It's OPI's Grenada 'N Bare It. I believe this one has been discontinued for a while, but if you can get it, I recommend it. It looks awesome, whether you decide to use it on your toenails or fingernails. Such a beautiful and bright fuchsia pink color in a creme finish. The picture doesn't do it justice.

I hope you enjoyed my favorites for February! If you have any questions or comments, just add a comment to this post. Talk to you all again soon! <3 <3 <3
